Practical information

Packing

Egypt in August is hot (35–42°C). Pack lightweight, breathable clothing that covers shoulders and knees for temple visits. A light scarf is useful. Comfortable walking shoes are essential. Sunscreen, a hat, and a reusable water bottle are must-haves.

Visas

Australian passport holders require an Egypt e-visa, available online at visa2egypt.gov.eg. The fee is approximately USD $25. Apply at least 2 weeks before departure.

Travel insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is compulsory for all guests. Your policy must cover medical evacuation, trip cancellation, and personal liability. Please send your policy details to Lisa before the final payment date.

Cancellation policy

Deposits are non-refundable after 1 April 2027. Cancellations received before 1 April 2027 will receive a full refund minus a $100 administration fee. Cancellations after 1 April 2027 are non-refundable. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellation.
